Our Approach

  • Whether you’re seeking support for skin conditions, curious about rongoā Māori, or exploring coaching and holistic healing — this 45-minute session is the starting point. Together, we’ll kōrero about what’s going on for you and I’ll offer practical recommendations, pathways, and resources to support your wellbeing.

This isn’t a treatment — it’s a space to be seen, heard, and gently guided toward the right support.

In-person or online available. Tailored for past clients, referrals, and new enquiries alike.

  • Rongoā kōrero is the medicine of words — a guided conversation that weaves together listening, reflection, and healing practice. Each 60-minute session is a safe and steady space to be heard without judgement and supported with care and integrity.

    A session may include:

        •    Karakia to open and close, grounding the space in tikanga.

        •    Rongoā support — gentle use of plant-based remedies to help settle and restore balance.

        •    Guided stillness practices that invite calm and clarity of mind.

        •    Practical hauora tools drawn from life coaching and mātauranga Māori — such as gratitude practices, movement routines, reflective journaling, reading whakataukī, or aligning daily rhythms with the maramataka.

Rongoā kōrero is not counselling or psychology — it is a trauma-aware space where your story is received with aroha, and where you are offered tangible ways to carry wellbeing into your daily life. If at any point additional professional support is needed, we can gently connect you with trusted local and community services, ensuring you are cared for beyond our session together.

It is conversation as medicine, reconnecting you with clarity, strength, and wairua.

  • Mirimiri Wairua Rebalance is a traditional Māori healing practice that works through gentle yet intentional touch to restore balance across tinana (body), hinengaro (mind), wairua (spirit), and whānau (connection).

In these sessions, skilled hands move with awareness to release tension, ease physical discomfort, and calm the nervous system. Mirimiri supports not only the body’s natural flow but also the unseen layers of energy that hold stress, grief, or heaviness. Each stroke is guided by care and presence, creating space for your whole being to soften and realign.

Mirimiri Healing is more than massage. It is an invitation to return to yourself — to reconnect with your own wairua, to let go of what no longer serves, and to rise again with clarity, strength, and lightness.

  • Muscle Release Massage, a therapeutic treatment designed to alleviate tension and restore balance. This focused massage targets specific muscle groups using deep tissue techniques to release stress and tightness.

Feel immediate relief as stubborn knots and discomfort melt away, promoting circulation and flexibility. Regular sessions improve muscle function, reduce pain, and help prevent tension from returning, empowering you to engage fully in daily activities.

  • Ora Aroha workshops and wānanga are inclusive spaces designed for connection, learning, and growth, where all people feel welcomed and supported.

    Workshops may include:

       •    Hauora wānanga — exploring seasonal cycles, maramataka, and holistic wellbeing.

        •    Neurodiversity workshops — practical training for schools, workplaces, and whānau to build inclusive and supportive environments.

        •    Creative workshops — from sourdough making to pottery, candle making, or weaving — experiences that nourish creativity, spark joy, and strengthen whanaungatanga.

        •    Collaborative gatherings — partnering with businesses and local practitioners to bring additional experiences that align with our values of strengthening connection and communities.

Each workshop is practical, engaging, and accessible — always shaped with clarity, care, and integrity. Whether you join a small community gathering or a larger facilitated wānanga, the heart of the kaupapa is the same: creating opportunities for people to reconnect with themselves, with others, and with the whenua.

  • Neurodiversity advocacy at Ora Aroha focuses on autism, ADHD, and sensory processing differences. This mahi is grounded in both lived experience — as an autistic and ADHD wāhine Māori, a māmā to neurodivergent tamariki, and a practitioner with trauma-aware training — and professional expertise built over 25 years in the health and wellbeing sector.

    Advocacy may include:

        •    Workshops and training — supporting schools, workplaces, and organisations to create environments of inclusion and equity, where autistic and ADHD individuals are understood and supported.

        •    Community kōrero — guiding whānau and local groups to better connect with neurodivergent tamariki and rangatahi, and to recognise the strengths as well as the challenges.

        •    Resources and tools — practical guides that translate neurodiversity into everyday strategies for communication, learning, and hauora.

        •    Speaking and facilitation — sharing lived experience and professional insight to advocate for inclusion, equity, and understanding. These sessions highlight what genuine support looks like in workplaces, schools, and communities, offering trauma-aware strategies that can be implemented immediately.

Every advocacy space is designed to be practical, inclusive, and supportive. The focus is on creating equity and belonging — where autistic, ADHD, and sensory diverse voices are not only heard, but valued.

At Ora Aroha, we offer services that honour both professional expertise and lived experience, guided by the values of;

Clarity • Care • Integrity.

Our mahi is grounded in Te Whare Tapa Whā and shaped by trauma-aware practice, creating safe and inclusive pathways for healing, reflection, and growth.

Each service below is a thread within the wider whare — distinct on its own, yet woven together to support the whole person.
